The Natural Touch

Our Natural Touch Encased Coil Mattress is the hallmark of the Monterey Mattress Gingerich-Built line. We offer both an Organic and Regular version consisting of the highest quality, 100% natural, latex foam rubber available. Latex foam is much more expensive than polyurethane foam and the quality that it brings is an elasticity you cannot get with polyurethane (they've never been able to make a synthetic rubber band). This elasticity allows the greatest stretch, shaping, and gentleness on pressure points while simultaneously lifting up into the small of your back and waist giving the most comfortable lower back support possible. All of our Natural Touch products are two sided and can be flipped.

Our Natural Touch is by far our best selling bed to clients purchasing for their own personal use. It is featured in many high end hotel suites and is in the rooms in the West Spa Building of the Monterey Plaza Hotel and Glen Oaks Big Sur. It is also the bed Clint Eastwood has in all of his homes.

The Natural Touch Encased Coil Mattress uses the very best individually wrapped coil springs which are very gentle on pressure points giving well to your shoulder & hips, while simultaneously lifting up into the small of your back and waist giving you great support. 

Our Natural Touch is a two sided mattress. For the primary upholstery padding we use the highest quality 100% natural latex foam rubber available, far better than of what is used by other mattress manufacturers. 

This latex foam is much more expensive than even the best furniture grade polyurethane upholstery foam. The quality that it brings is an elasticity you cannot get with polyurethane (they've never been able to make a synthetic rubber band). As with the encased coil springs, this elasticity also allows the greatest stretch, shaping, and gentleness to pressure points while lifting up into the small of your back and waist giving the most comfortable lower back support possible. 

On top of the primary upholstery padding there is 1" of high-density super-soft polyurethane foam, along with a synthetic fire barrier which is green and sustainable (no chemical fire retardants), quilted into the stretch knit organic cotton fabric. This gives a very nice gentle surface feel without breaking down and creating deep body indentations so common in major brand mattresses, especially pillow-top mattresses.

The 6 Diamond

The 6 Diamond is our second best selling bed for personal use, and the best selling bed for guest rooms. The 6 Diamond Encased Coil Mattress uses individually wrapped coil springs, which are very gentle on pressure points giving well to your shoulder & hips, while lifting up into the small of your back and waist giving you great support. It is a two-sided mattress, which uses a high-density polyurethane furniture grade foam for the primary upholstery padding which makes it comfortable, yet durable (the reason seat cushions on good furniture lasts so long).

On top of the primary upholstery padding it has 1" of high-density super-soft polyurethane foam, along with a synthetic fire barrier, which is green and sustainable (no chemical fire retardants), quilted into the stretch knit organic cotton fabric. Our 6 Diamond Mattress line uses an upscale furniture grade high-density high-resiliency polyurethane foam for the primary upholstery padding which makes it very comfortable yet durable (the reason seat cushions on good furniture lasts so long).

We use the same quilting and chemical free fire barrier on our 6 Diamond as we use on our Natural Touch Mattress.

Our Fire Barrier

Since 1992, STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® has meant chemical safety along the textile chain and effective consumer protection. This independent certification system is based on annually updated criteria, which includes over 350 parameters.

If a textile article carries the STANDARD 100 label, you can be certain that every component of this article, i.e. every thread, button and other accessories, has been tested for harmful substances and that the article therefore is harmless for human health. The test is conducted by our independent OEKO-TEX® partner institutes on the basis of our extensive OEKO-TEX® criteria catalog. In the test they take into account numerous regulated and non-regulated substances, which may be harmful to human health. In many cases the limit values for the STANDARD 100 go beyond national and international requirements. The criteria catalog is updated at least once a year and expanded with new scientific knowledge or statutory requirements. It is not easy for manufacturers and customers to keep an overview of the legal situation concerning harmful substances every day. Our experts from the OEKO-TEX® institutes do this for you.
